FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-May 22, 2013
The defending Provincial Champion Fredericton Peterbilt DQ Royals kick off the home portion of their 2013 New Brunswick Senior Baseball League schedule with this season’s first edition of Friday Night Lights Baseball at the newly upgraded Royals Field.  The Royals will play host to the visiting Hub City Brewers with Dan Murphy getting the pitching start.  Game time is 7:30pm on baseball hill.

It’s going to be a very exciting summer on the hill as new player dugouts have been built in honor of long time Fredericton community supporter Bob Kenny, who will be on hand for the opening ceremonies on Friday.

The entire Royals organization is extremely pleased to welcome the newest and most exciting addition to the lineup, hometown sports hero and former Major Leaguer and World Series Champion Matt Stairs.   His experience, knowledge and baseball ability will be a welcome addition to a lineup which went 22-8 last year and won the league championship in five games over the Moncton Mets.

With a trip to the Canadian Senior Baseball Championship scheduled for August in Windsor, Ontario, the Royals are looking forward to their most exciting season ever on Baseball Hill!

Season passes are available at a cost of $60.  As always, admission for kids under 12 is free.  Passes are available for purchase at the Dairy Queen on Union Street or they can be picked up at the Royals ticket booth on game night.
